About Slowing Down a Little

Christmas is around the corner and I am sitting here by the window, looking outside, waiting for fragile snowflakes to start falling down. My thoughts take me back to my childhood, when I was a little girl, and the period before Christmas seemed to be so beautiful. We would bake our famous cookies, in the house you could smell a heavenly fragrance of little miracles on a baking pan. My mom would tell me magic stories and I would listen attentively with my eyes and mouth wide open :), we would watch people trying to walk in drifts of snow, with a special net-like bags with carps in it...a special type of fish people eat in the Czech Republic on Christmas. We would make paper snowflakes and paper chains for our tree...and listen to our little junkie radio. Times were so different back there. What happen, how come I grew up so fast?
Now I am the mom, trying to keep the atmosphere I used to have, the warmth of home, the anticipation=Advent...the tranquility of evenings. Let's stop for a while, instead of chasing the best deals on Best Buy's sale...and let's praise the Lord, for giving us this miracle, the miracle of Love in Christmas. Let's wait together for the Saviour.

The Power of Love

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge -- myth is more potent than history -- dreams are more powerful than facts -- hope always triumphs over experience -- laughter is the cure for grief -- love is stronger than death.
