I went to a viewing on Thursday. It was a friend's husband who passed away. I did not know him.
Standing by his casket, I started praying. I could not help myself but thinking of one verse from the Bible:
Genesis 2:7 KJV:
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
I could not stop thinking of it. It is always hard for me to go to a viewing. I am very much uncomfortable with doing so, however, I understand it as a part of life, and something that honors my friend, or relative who loses the loved one. So I do go. Yet, I can't help myself thinking of this.
I could clearly see the ABSENCE of life in this man's body. A human body as we know it is a wonderful, organized matter. The ABSENCE I was seeing was the SOUL. I am 100% sure we have a soul - the breath of life - something that makes us different than animals, than things around us. This was not created by men, this is God's breath that dwells within us. In this man's body, there was no LIFE. No SOUL.
It is the PRESENCE of LORD'S BREATH that makes us look wonderful, gives our skin warmth and color. It gives our eyes the shine and our face a smile. In every creature, there is BREATH OF GOD. His very own presence, His own LOVE. I looked at people around me, and I saw so much God's love!
I realize now that every person around me is filled with God's breath. There is God's imprint of His Love. There is the SOUL. He took this man's soul up to heaven. I know the soul is beautiful, this is what makes our body alive, and I am thrilled to know that the soul lives forever and God's love overcomes death.
Praise the Lord!

Happy New Year 2012!
Traditionally, I am not starting my blog on New Year's Day...I do not like New Year's resolutions. I think if you want to change your life, you do not need a New Year's Day for it. You just go ahead and do it. Any day is a good starting point, so here I am rambling again. Another year has gone by, I thank our Lord for allowing me enter into the new one. God is so good to us...I love the fact that no matter what happens this year, I know He is with me always. A wretch like me!
I wonder how can others live their empty lives without Christ. Life seems so easy when things go well, and we don't feel the need for Christ, and when things happen in our lives, we start calling on God, expecting Him to work things out in our lives. You do not call on God only when you need Him! Wake up! Who are you to have such a demand? Is God required to help us? NO! But He graciously does. And if it does not seem like to you that He does, maybe you should take a different perspective. Sometimes what we think is right in our eyes interferes with God's plan, and that - as we know it - is a perfect plan. We never know what is out there for us, we don't know what future holds, but we know WHO holds the future....and to me that is a comfort. No matter what this year may bring, I will not be afraid, for I know who walks with me.
Thank you Lord!
